What do you like best about being a woman in the AEC industry? Being a woman in the AEC industry is more challenging than I anticipated, but it’s a challenge that I confront daringly. I’ve never viewed my gender as a disadvantage in this male dominated industry, but rather as an advantage. As a woman, you are highlighted for being different and so I use this spotlight as an opportunity to shine. It is the driving motivation that fuels my performance. They want to know if you can hold your own and perform like your counterparts, so I show up as the best version of myself and I go above and beyond in any role I take on.
