Staten Island, NY Plaza Construction, in partnership with Central Consulting & Contracting, Inc., is nearing completion of the Comprehensive Cancer Center’s North Campus at Staten Island University Hospital, a 38,755 s/f center. The project scope includes interior renovations of portions of the existing first and second floors of the radiation oncology wing.
“We’re proud to have been awarded this opportunity to upgrade this premier healthcare location in Staten Island,” said Thomas D’Ercole, executive vice president of Plaza Construction. “The future of healthcare is changing - and we are excited to be at the forefront of this transformation.”
The third floor vertical expansion will connect to the existing ‘tower building’ at the third floor. The first floor, which contains the existing linear accelerators (LINAC) and high dynamic range (HDR), will house all radiation oncology services and support, while also containing the main entrance and intake functions for the combined cancer center programs.
The second floor will be renovated to accommodate medical oncology exam and consult rooms, as well as administration, research and educational functions.
A new third floor will be constructed to contain an adult and pediatric chemotherapy and infusion center as well as a new satellite pharmacy, specifically for hazardous (usp 800) and sterile compounding (usp 797) with all required support spaces. This satellite pharmacy and compounding suite will serve the cancer center as well as the rest of the hospital.
