In the past year, what project or accomplishment are you most proud of? Gannett Building Renovations. The Gannett Building is a historic landmark in Rochester. Seeing the history be uncovered as we are demoing out the building is amazing- from ink lines to old newspapers and stairs that lead to nowhere. I am extremely proud to be a part of the team that will restore life to it while also keeping so many of the characteristics that make it beautiful. 

How can AEC companies recruit more women? AEC companies can recruit more women by getting involved with college campuses. I was hired as a co-op through Rochester Institute of Technology. I ended up spending all four of my co-op blocks with the same company and was eventually hired full-time after graduation. I would never have been given the opportunities I have now if they didn’t reach out to me about a co-op opportunity. 

What is your favorite building in New York? My favorite building is the Buffalo Central Terminal. Growing up in Buffalo, I was able to see it sticking up as I was driving down the street to my house. It also holds a sentimental value as both of my grandparents worked there when it was in its heyday. The history surrounding it as well as the details inside and outside make it beautiful to me.
