What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of?

Over the past year I have been able to curate a collaborative and creative work environment for my team. It has been particularly fulfilling to support their growth into new responsibilities and positions.

Tell us about a mentor or role model that has influenced your career choices?

As a Brazilian woman, my career as a designer was very much inspired by the works of strong women and architects such as Lina Bo Bardi, Carla Juacaba and many others that have carved new paths through the profession.

What 3 skills do you consider the most important to be successful in your industry?

Communication is key in conducting projects that cut across numerous professions. Additionally, both confidence and humility are essential; giving one the skills to know when to assert oneself and when to defer to the expertise of colleagues.

What is one lesson that you had to learn the hard way?

As a foreigner with English as my second language, I really had to learn on the go with regards to technical vocabulary and the American culture of work. This has led to numerous tough (and sometimes embarrassing lol) lessons.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

As a new mother I have found immense joy in spending time with my son and learning from a little human being every day.
