Nominee’s Name & Job Title: Matthew Isaacs, Vice President of Business Development
Nominee’s Company/Affiliation: Radiator Labs
Nominee’s City & State of Employment: Brooklyn, New York
Describe what you would consider to be ONE of your top career highlights:
There are many areas of the work that I do with Radiator Labs that I’m proud of but none more so than decarbonizing 2,000 NYCHA apartments and providing room-level heating temperature control for the first time in the history of that building stock.
What aspect of your position do you find most challenging?
In the emerging ClimateTech field we come up against entrenched ways of doing business. At Radiator Labs we are revamping archaic heating systems and modernizing legacy infrastructure. It can be challenging to convince skeptics of the possibilities, but incredibly gratifying once you win them over!
What advice would you give the next generation of leaders in your industry?
I would encourage the next generation to seek meaningful work and explore the Proptech and ClimateTech fields.
Buildings contribute to 40% of the United States’ greenhouse gasses and it’s going to take an all of the above approach to retrofit our buildings and energy infrastructure. It’s still early days and the industry welcomes bright minds.
