With over 40 years of experience in the construction industry Benziger’s expertise in hospitality has been paramount to CNY Group’s continued success. Having joined CNY Group in 2010, Benziger has been an integral team member throughout the construction of numerous award-winning hospitality projects across New York City, including the Times Square EDITION hotel and the dual Marriott hotels at 1717 Broadway. Benziger has already proven himself as an effective team leader, and with his expanded capacities as project executive, he will now oversee and coordinate CNY Group’s ongoing construction efforts on projects, including a forthcoming, five-star hotel project located along Fifth Ave.

As project executive, Benziger will coordinate each step of a project’s lifecycle, working alongside developers, architects, and designers to ensure the successful execution of every stage from preconstruction to closeout. He will be responsible for maintaining CNY Group’s highest professional standards in providing accessible and quality services, including specialty supervision, project management, design-assist, technical engineering, and global sourcing in an open-shop contracting method. Further, he will lead efforts in building long-term relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders and assisting in business development efforts, such as participating in the proposal and bidding process. Benziger will also be charged with cultivating the next generation of talent, providing overall direction, mentorship, and training opportunities for his team members to strengthen capabilities at all levels of the business––both directly and through his role on CNY Group’s Operations Council, which serves as a knowledge-sharing exchange platform for the firm’s senior-level executives.
