New York, NY According to VHB, a national leader in providing integrated consulting services, KC Sahl has been promoted to national director of offshore wind. Sahl brings more than a decade of dedicated offshore wind-energy project experience to his new role where he will work to advance and enhance VHB’s presence in the expanding offshore wind market.
Sahl has led several large-scale strategic pursuits in support of the growing offshore wind industry. In addition, he has expanded VHB’s offshore wind team, capabilities, and partnerships to serve the evolving needs of the U.S. offshore wind marketplace.
“KC will be instrumental in leading VHB to provide innovative solutions to bring offshore wind projects online and create a more sustainable future,” said Kris Dramby, VHB’s corporate energy market leader. “His experience, prominence in the industry, and unique perspective will guide VHB as we respond to the increased need to address the complexity of offshore development.”
In response to his appointment, Sahl said, “As VHB expands our offshore wind services, we strongly believe in fostering opportunities to expand and diversify our network of industry professionals. I commend VHB’s efforts to foster collaboration to best serve the needs of our clients.”
In addition to his new role with VHB, Sahl was recently appointed by the mayor of New York as co-chair of the New York City Offshore Wind Advisory Council, which was established to oversee federal, state, and private investment to drive the city’s clean energy growth and help meet long-term sustainability goals. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic’s effect on in-person connectivity, Sahl founded Offshore Wind Drinks, an international networking community of more than 1,200 industry professionals. Most recently, Sahl founded Offshore Wind Environmental Professionals, an organization envisioned as a forum to discuss and collaborate on issues of environmental and social importance to the future of this burgeoning industry. Sahl also serves on the Board of Directors for New York City’s Natural Areas Conservancy.
VHB primarily serves the offshore wind industry with lead regulatory, permitting, and technical consultant services. The company is currently leading construction and operations plans for two offshore wind farms, and provides planning, design, environmental, engineering and survey consulting services throughout the offshore wind supply chain. In his new role, Sahl will focus on implementing VHB’s offshore wind strategic framework and integrated-services approach for clients along the East Coast.
