Which project, deal, or transaction was the “game-changer” in the advancement of your career?
The land swap deal we orchestrated between the NYC Sanitation Department, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and City University of NY was a great multi-year effort that lead to the development of the city’s largest freestanding cancer center facility which just opened at 525 East 73rd St.
How do you contribute to your community or your profession?
We try to be a catalyst for community use redevelopment. Last year we helped initiate an adaptive reuse of a planned residential conversion on the Lower East Side at 45 Rivington St. back to community facility use where a new Mount Sinai Behavioral Health Comprehensive Center is being built. We also helped complete a deal to convert a vacant industrial property on the South Bronx waterfront at 20 Bruckner into a new 1,000+ seat charter school being built for Dream Charter School.
What led you to your current profession?
Attending college in downtown Manhattan post 9/11 was an influential experience that probably was my main driver to work within the real estate industry.
What do you like most about your job?
The opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life.
What can our political leaders do to increase equality in the workplace?
They can perhaps increase or improve access to professional educational programs and encourage more robust work training programs.
Who or what inspires you?
Mayor Bloomberg has always been an inspiration. He was a champion for NYC.
What social media platform do you use the most professionally?
LinkedIn has been the most useful social medial platform for me.
