What was your greatest professional accomplishment in 2017? 

I left the security of my well-paying commercial architecture job at the end of 2016 after much discussion & debate with my husband. He owned a construction business and was struggling with keeping up on the back-end work, such as accounting and project documentation. I felt that together, we could achieve great things with the business and I could have a bit more time with our then one-year-old daughter. More time with our daughter was apparently a pipe dream, but we have made great strides in growing the business over the course of the last year. We increased revenues dramatically, went from one employee to 16, moved our office space. We’re also certainly experiencing the growing pains that go along with that sort of rapid growth, but together we have a lot to offer our clients and team – and we’ll get through it! In short, my greatest professional accomplishment was taking that leap of faith and walking away from my salary & benefits to pursue our dream of doing design/build work in NYC.
