In December 2007, the Architects Council of New York (ACNY) conducted an election in which architect Michael Macaluso, FARA, AIA, was elected as the organization's new president for the upcoming year.
"My job as the president is to reflect the opinions and ideas of the constituent organizations to the various groups that the council was anxious to speak with," said Macaluso.
These various groups include the State Department of Education, the New York Department of Buildings, conferences that relate to the practice of architecture, and the New York construction industry.
The ACNY currently faces a variety of issues affecting the practice of architecture in NYC. For this reason, Macaluso has appointed Miss Anaise Martin as his executive director, to assist the dissemination of information that comes through the council's headquarters on an hourly basis.
