AECOM Technology Corp. has promoted Daniel McQuade to chief executive of Tishman Construction Corp., an AECOM company, and the firm's construction services practice. In this role, McQuade will focus on driving the growth of the company into new markets and expanding market share in its current areas of operation.
He will ensure Tishman continues to deliver the highest quality services to clients in building some of the world's most visible projects, including World Trade Center office towers 1, 3 and 4 and the complex's transportation hub in New York, as well as the Department of Homeland Security's headquarters in Washington, D.C.
McQuade succeeds John Livingston, who will begin a new role as chief executive of AECOM Capital - AECOM's principal investment arm, focusing on Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and direct equity investment in real estate.
"Dan brings a proven track record of 30 years of successful construction projects and management skills to the position," said John Dionisio, chairman and chief executive officer of AECOM. "His leadership will be integral in seizing growth opportunities and delivering the superior client outcomes for which our construction services business is known."
McQuade began working for Tishman as an assistant superintendent in 1984. He previously served as regional president of New England and the West, where he was responsible for each region's overall activities, operations, personnel and new business generation. In that position, he led Tishman through large projects across the country, including the $800-million, 1.8-million-square-foot Boston Convention and Exhibition Center and MGM Mirage's CityCenter - the $8-billion, 18-million-square-foot resort and mixed use development on the Las Vegas strip that opened in December 2009 and was the largest private construction project in the United States.
"Having worked his way up through the ranks over the past three decades, Dan knows all aspects of our business and has delivered quality projects to some of our most visible clients," said AECOM vice chairman, Dan Tishman. "As we focus on growth in new markets in a way we haven't previously, I'm convinced that Dan is the best person to lead Tishman and AECOM's construction services business going forward."
"With the merger of Tishman Construction and AECOM's construction services personnel, it's an exciting time to be heading up one of the world's truly great construction companies," said Mr. McQuade. "While we look to expand our business both here and abroad, we will never waver in our commitment to excellence in delivery for our existing clients. We have the best builders in the world working for us and I'm proud to lead the team."
