Continuing its recent string of major new product introductions, Crystal Window & Door Systems has unveiled the latest addition to vast product line. The Crystal Evolution 8800 In-Swing Casement Window series offers advanced technology, enhanced energy efficiency features and European style and design, in addition to top level architectural performance ratings.
The new Crystal Evolution 8800 In-Swing Casement complements the company's existing heavy-commercial architectural-rated products. "The Crystal AW-rated Evolution product lines are a prime example of performance meeting beauty," said Steve Chen, executive vice president. "Along with the recently introduced Evolution 9000 Tilt & Turn line, the Evolution 8800 In-Swing Casement represents the culmination of over 22 years of progressive product improvement by Crystal Windows."
The 2-5/8" jamb depth new window features strong 0.093" wall thickness aluminum profiles and comes in two models - an in-swing casement designated the Series 8800 and the Series 8810 fixed/picture window. Also, a continuous master frame option allows multiple units of either style to be combined horizontally or vertically.
The new Crystal Series 8800 In-Swing Casement Windows offer both advanced styling and performance. The Series 8800 has achieved a national AAMA testing level for strength and weather resistance of AW-PG100-C. "There are many window features that contribute to the outstanding performance of the Series 8800," said Rizaldy Espinosa, R&D director who was involved with design and testing of the product. The zero sightline sash utilizes concealed 4-bar hinges and mates perfectly with the frame when closed securely by a multi-point lock system. Monticello metal corner keys, which facilitate silicone sealing, draw the mitered sash and frame corners tight as they are fastened. This provides both strength and beauty. The in-swing casement is available in large sizes up to 48" in width and 80" in height. "This window is ideal for the most discriminating commercial, residential or institutional properties," said Espinosa.
The heart of the Crystal Evolution 8800's energy performance is its advanced polyamide I-Bar strut thermal break system. A 1-¼" insulating glass unit (IGU) with double glazing is standard. Triple glazing, a variety of low-E coatings (including multi-surface), argon gas filling and a smaller 1" IGU are available options. A structurally glazed insulating glass unit, triple gasket seals between sash and frame, and a pressure-equalized frame design further add to the window's superior energy performance and weather resistance.
American-made European-style hardware enhances the new window's aesthetics while a limit stop on the in-swing operation assures safety. (A special over-ride release on the limit stop facilitates full in-swing for easy cleaning.) Between-the-glass or exterior applied grids are available. The Crystal Evolution 8800's I-Bar strut thermal break system easily accommodates optional two-tone finishes with different interior and exterior aluminum colors. In addition to standard white and bronze, Crystal offers a broad palette of optional stock and custom colors. All Crystal aluminum windows receive as standard an environmentally sustainable powder coat paint finish meeting AAMA 2604 national durability standards; an upgrade to AAMA 2605 is an option.
Accessories for the Crystal Evolution 8800 Series include installation clips and snap trim, installation fin flange frames, factory or field applied panning and receptor and subsill systems.
