Tishman Construction Corp., an AECOM company, has appointed William Palmer as executive vice president and director of strategic alliances for North America. In this newly created position, Palmer will focus on utilizing strategic alliances to drive the growth of both Tishman and AECOM's construction services practice across North America as well as expanding market share in the company's current areas of operations. "As a professional services company strongly focused on growth, Bill's knowledge, relationships and experiences in our industry throughout North America serve us well in meeting the goals of our business," said Pete Marchetto, Tishman's president of the Americas.
Palmer brings 30 years of experience to Tishman and AECOM, having spent equal amounts of time in both Canada and the U.S. Specializing in strategic alliances, his career has spanned the fields of real estate development and construction management. Prior to joining Tishman, he served as vice president of business development and strategic alliances for Hunt Construction Group Inc., where he was responsible for recruiting and building an eastern-U.S. business development team. As an integral member of the team, he spearheaded a new business initiative that centered on building vertical markets, including sports, convention centers, public assembly, aviation, hospitality, healthcare and higher education facilities.
"As evidenced by its joining with AECOM, Tishman has demonstrated a firm commitment to growth," said Palmer. "Building on its history of innovation and reputation for excellence, our clients will benefit greatly from our expanded geographic reach throughout North America."
