LONG ISLAND CITY, NY GreenbergFarrow, a nationally recognized architectural, planning and development services firm, has designed The Industry LIC condominium in Long Island City, New York, for developers Alan Suna and Stuart Match Suna, owners of Silvercup Studios.
Featuring 76 condominiums with a mix of studio, one, two, and three-bedroom homes, The Industry LIC is located at 21-45 44th Dr. Occupancy begins in late spring.
"The design of The Industry LIC reflects the spirit, character and history of the surrounding neighborhood," said Navid Maqami, principal of architecture at GreenbergFarrow. "Its engaging design incorporates several bold architectural features, in addition to open-space elements. The Industry LIC stands out as an intriguing venue for contemporary urban living."
Set back from the street to allow for planted green space, the complex projects an updated, modern look, featuring prominent, black metal spandrels incorporated on a brick exterior with oversized, metal-trimmed windows. Residences have well-designed, spacious layouts.
Its name reflects the neighborhood's industrial roots, along with Long Island City's reputation as a center for the film and television production industry, commonly known as "The Industry." Silvercup Studios is situated in Long Island City.
