On Thursday evening, March 31, Professional Women in Construction (PWC) NY will celebrate its annual Awards Reception by honoring a landmark $1.4 billion, 150,000 s/f project currently under construction - The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)'s Ultraviolet Disinfection Plant which, when completed in 2012, will be the world's largest such municipal treatment plant supplying over 90% of New York City's drinking water. Being constructed in nearby Westchester County - Mount Pleasant, N.Y. - it will be 10 times larger than any facility previously built and capable of treating two billion gallons of water daily.
