New York, NY According to Prescriptive Data LLC, it has been added to the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s (NYSERDA) Commercial Real Time Energy Management (RTEM) qualified vendors program for its ability to combine smart building technology with comprehensive services.
The RTEM program supports building owners, building management companies and the RTEM system and service providers who help them to select, install and use appropriate RTEM systems. It provides cost-shared incentives for both the installation of systems and the post-installation information services. To be qualified by NYSERDA, vendors are evaluated against 13 comprehensive RTEM System and Services principles developed by NYSERDA and industry leaders.
The NYSERDA Real Time Energy Management team assesses vendor capabilities and explores the vendor’s past performance and future potential in the industry. Only firms that demonstrate the core competencies and understanding of RTEM Systems and Services are qualified as NYSERDA-Qualified Real Time Energy Management Vendors.
NYSERDA’s RTEM program has prequalified Nantum, a revolutionary smart building platform created by Prescriptive Data that collaboratively and organically integrates all building systems into one, easy-to-use, cockpit style control panel. Designed to function as the “brain” of a building, Nantum gathers local property data in real-time, including building occupancy, electric demand, outside weather and other factors, while utilizing cloud-based machine learning engines to maintain optimal indoor temperatures with the most efficient use of energy. Nantum offers real time building commissioning 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
“We are delighted that Prescriptive Data has been selected by NYSERDA for its commercial RTEM program,” said Aaron Lovejoy, Head of Sales and Business Development at Prescriptive Data. “From the beginning, it was our goal to create a real-time data delivery platform, providing owners and building management companies with the necessary information to manage their portfolio in the most energy and cost efficient manner – our Nantum platform has achieved this goal and now Prescriptive Data will work to save owners money, make tenants more comfortable and dramatically increase energy efficiency for users locally, regionally and statewide.”
Using information correlated from sensors, meters, elevators, turnstiles, and existing building management systems Nantum “learns” from historic data to predict daily energy usage and generates recommendations to optimize the way a building runs. For example, the turnstiles in the building “talk” to the cooling and heating system, so that the temperature can be adjusted based on building occupancy. In addition, the system responds quickly to spikes and other patterns to help owners save energy.
NYSERDA describes RTEM as a program that combines comprehensive monitoring and analytic services to provide building owners with system level energy usage data. This combination informs actions that can maximize energy performance, prevent operational stray, and improve equipment/building optimization, as well as better inform capital investment recommendations.
