Politis appointed vice president at Alcott HR

Alcott HR has appointed Steven Politis, Esq. as VP. Politis brings a blend of HRO industry experience and operational, legal, customer service and sales expertise to Alcott HR. As a member of the organization's executive committee, Politis will leverage his knowledge to oversee all day-to-day functions of the company. Lou Basso, Alcott HR president and co-founder, is excited to add a professional of Politis' caliber to Alcott HR's already strong leadership team. "His past experience, knowledge, drive and professional integrity reflect the caliber of executive we look for in an Alcott HR team member. Politis has more than 15 years of experience in the HRO industry, and directly prior to joining Alcott HR he served as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for Abel HR, Inc. and Abel Benefit Solutions, Inc., a leading HRO and insurance brokerage firm headquartered in Cranbury, New Jersey. He has also held various executive and C-level positions throughout his career, and he has a proven track record of optimizing internal operations and policies while helping his customers control costs, reduce employment liabilities and exposure, enhance compliance and improve recruitment and retention. Politis is actively involved in many industry trade groups and organizations. He continues to serve or has served as the New Jersey Leadership Council Chair for the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO); a NAPEO Legal Advisory Council Member, Governmental Affairs Committee Member and Vice Chair of Best Practices Healthcare Sub-Committee. He is also a former member of both the Board of Directors for the Workers' Compensation Certification Institute and of the Unemployment Task Force. Politis, a resident of Bayside, NY, began his professional career as an attorney and is or has been admitted to the Bars of New York, New Jersey, the District of Columbia, Minnesota and North Dakota. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts, Eastern Division of New York and the District of New Jersey. Politis earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, from which he graduated cum laude. He later received his Juris Doctor from Ohio University Pettit College of Law. He resides in Bayside, NY.
