Pennetta joins Cushman & Wakefield's Long Island office as executive director of brokerage and senior managing director

According to Cushman & Wakefield (C&W), David Pennetta, one of Long Island's most widely known commercial real estate executives, has joined the firm as executive director of brokerage and senior managing director of the Long Island office. Formerly a principal of Oxford & Simpson Realty in Jericho, Pennetta will manage the Long Island office. He will also identify new business opportunities, recruit staff, and develop the sales team. In addition, Pennetta will collaborate with other regional personnel to continue serving business he has previously built. He will report to Ron Lo Russo, president of Cushman & Wakefield's New York tri-state region, and Suzy Reingold, COO, New York tri-state region. "David Pennetta is not only one of Long Island's most productive brokers, he is also one of Long Island's most respected and outspoken advocates on behalf of commercial real estate," said Lo Russo. "With his unparalleled knowledge of the Long Island marketplace, David represents a valuable and exciting addition to our rapidly growing tri-state team." Pennetta, who is based in the company's regional headquarters, comes to C&W with more than twenty-five years of experience in commercial real estate brokerage. He joined Oxford & Simpson in 1988 as a sales associate and became a company principal in 1994. Pennetta's undertakings have included brokering the sale and leasing of office, industrial and medical properties. He carries extensive expertise in tenant representation, investment sales, property management, development and landlord representation. Notable transactions include the negotiation of a long-term lease for ADP, Inc. at its new 68,000 s/f headquarters in Lake Success, the negotiation of two leases totaling 110,000 s/f on behalf of CNA Financial Corp., and the management of multiple transactions for M&T Bank Corp. in various regional locations. "David Pennetta is far more than an accomplished and sophisticated deal closer," said Reingold. "He enjoys a well-deserved reputation as a bold and informed voice of our industry on Long Island." Pennetta takes a vigorous and visible role in industry affairs in his capacity as inaugural strategic officer for the Commercial Brokers Society of Long Island. In this newly created position within the 300-member industry group, Pennetta forges alliances with other Long Island business organizations, represents CIBS in public forums, and builds the organization's overall community presence. He assumed this position after having served two terms as CIBS president from 2011-2012 and 1998-1999. A member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors and a graduate of Molloy College's Energeia Partnership, Pennetta also serves on the Town of Huntington planning board and on the board of the YMCA of Long Island. Pennetta graduated with honors from New York University with a bachelor of science degree in Real Estate. He is a member in good standing of Alpha Sigma Lambda honors society.
