Ones to Watch Fall 2022: Alyssa Brody, Development Marketing Team

Alyssa Brody
Co-Founder
Development Marketing Team

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of?

One of my greatest accomplishments recently was the successful lease-up of 30 Kent St., a new luxury waterfront rental development in Greenpoint. We launched leasing in June, and in less than four months, nearly all of the building’s 80 units are leased, a testament to our data-driven method at DMT.

Tell us about a mentor or role model that has influenced your career choices?

One of my biggest role models is my business partner, and friend, Erica Sachse. Her data-driven approach influenced our company, Development Marketing Team, and has elevated the way I execute sales and marketing. Together, we merged our backgrounds to co-found DMT, a data-enabled real estate sales and marketing company.

What 3 skills do you consider the most important to be successful in your industry?

Communication, grit, and integrity are three skills I believe make a successful real estate agent. It’s essential to have constant communication with your team and your clients to build meaningful relationships; grit to keep you moving forward even in the face of adversity, and integrity to keep you respectable.

What is one lesson that you had to learn the hard way?

I once represented two properties near each other, a new development and a resale. A buyer was interested in the development project. I got mixed up and pitched the details for the resale, pricing, common charges, amenities. Now, I make sure to triple-check the listing details before the buyers arrive.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I’m a mom to two daughters, so outside of the office, I spend a ton of quality time with them and my family. I also prioritize mental and physical health, so I work out and meditate daily. In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis, a newfound hobby of mine.
