What led you to your current profession?

I grew up saying I wanted to be an attorney, but I never really knew what type. It was my family that helped shape and inspire me—my uncle “babysat” me by reading me case law during his law school days, while both of my grandfathers and my parents were involved in carpentry and construction. I loved the fast pace of construction and development along with the problem-solving aspect of the law, which, in hindsight, is what drove me to combine these twin passions.

as a real estate transactional attorney.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of?

Some of the most rewarding aspects of my job are the sophisticated transactions on which my firm works and the individuals with whom I interact on a daily basis.

We closed on the $68 million sale of a residential complex in Houston, TX for a private equity real estate fund. The deal had a few last-minute curveballs that could have derailed the entire transaction. Through creative problem solving and a focused strategy during the negotiation, our team worked together, persisted, and ultimately found a successful resolution for our client.
