Office Document Systems introduces your path to "The Cloud Portal" - The sky is the limit

Office Document Systems (ODS) began its journey to become one of the top copier dealers in the country when it was incorporated in February 2011. While we have all heard the copier sales speech promising better equipment and same-day service, ODS has taken a more ambitious approach. ODS president Anthony Masotto believes that in order for a business to not only survive but prosper, it must constantly be ahead of industry trends most notably the ever changing technology curve. It's that approach that has made the challenge of starting his own company from scratch an exciting one for Masotto. "After working in sales with the best and brightest for over 25 years I always had a tremendous amount of confidence that I would be successful," Masotto said. "Starting my own company was just about taking that next step and finding the next challenge." A strong partnership with Sharp Electronics is among the many reasons why it's been a successful start for Masotto and ODS. Sharp's eagerness to be at the forefront of new technology in the copier industry has been evident over the last decade. Among the most popular of Sharp's recent developments are its user-friendly mobile applications. The free Sharpdesk Mobile app allows the user to instantly print documents, attachments and photos from a smartphone or tablet directly from a Sharp MFP. Compatible with iOS, Android and Windows devices, Sharpdesk Mobile also features the ability to scan and save files directly to a mobile device from any Sharp supported MFP. Sharp's newly available built-in wireless networking works in conjunction with this app to offer convenient printing and scanning for guest users, without having to access the company's corporate network. In the past, when making a decision on where to purchase a copier from, often only two variables were considered; cost and service time. However in the present day workplace, value added software and feature rich machines are starting to factor into that decision. ODS has made it their goal to educate business owners to the many benefits of this technology. As more and more businesses are trending towards a paper-less workplace document management software has never been more important. Earlier this year, in response to that progression, Sharp rolled out its Cloud Portal Office systems. Cloud Portal Office is a cloud-based document management systems providing users with "anywhere access" to their business documents. The Cloud Portal can be accessed from any supported web browser as well as any iOS or Android phone. In addition to having documents available anywhere you need them, Sharp Portal Office is integrated seamlessly to Sharp hardware devices such as MFP's and Interactive White Boards. As most employers know all too well, even the best sales rep or agent has left a proposal or presentation behind. Having access to an on-demand document archive offers peace of mind; no time is wasted worrying about which file version you have. When you hear the term "anywhere access," you may be wondering if the cloud portal service is a secure way to handle your intimate business documents. The simple answer is yes. Selecting a document management service designed and customized for your business offers a much greater level of security than letting employees use unmanaged personal accounts. Among the latest satisfied customers of ODS is Ronkonkoma-based Zere Real Estate Services. In December 2013, ODS certified technicians installed and integrated a Sharp MX-2640N at Zere's headquarters. Zere Real Estate Services president & CEO and commercial real estate industry leader Marie Zere was floored by what a vast upgrade the Sharp was in comparison to their old Xerox machine. "The increase in efficiency and quality was immediate," Zere said. "Our brokers were able to access and transport their documents in half the usual time. As a continually active office we simply can't afford to have any down time. ODS was there with us for every step of the transition and I couldn't of asked for anything more." Looking towards the future, Masotto certainly feels like the sky is the limit. "Each business that I am able to help improve or assist in any capacity is personally gratifying and I plan on being able to do this for many years to come," Masotto said. While the landscape of MFP technology will continue to evolve, one thing is certain: ODS drives to be at the front line will remain a constant. Anthony Masotto is the president of Office Document Systems, Ronkonkoma, N.Y.

The evolving relationship of environmental consultants and the lending community - by Chuck Merritt

When Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) were first part of commercial real estate risk management, it was the lenders driving this requirement. When a borrower wanted a loan on a property, banks would utilize a list of “Approved Consultants” to order the report on both refinances and purchases.
