O'Hara named director of industrial service at Sperry Van Ness

Lorraine O'Hara, who worked alongside her commercial real estate broker husband, John O'Hara, for 20 years until his death last year, has been named director of industrial services at with Sperry Van Ness (SVN) Commercial Real Estate Advisors. In her new role, O'Hara, will continue her late husband's real estate practice, specializing in sales and leasing of office space, industrial space and land. She is a licensed real estate salesperson, John O'Hara was a leading industrial real estate broker in Suffolk County and a managing partner at SVN's L.I. office. "We are extremely pleased that Lorraine O'Hara has agreed to continue to work with our industrial clients. Her knowledge and experience will be invaluable," said David Madigan, president of SVN's L.I. office. Lorraine and John O'Hara joined SVN in 2013. Over the 20 years that they worked together, they completed numerous major transactions, mostly land sales and build-to-suits. Their build-to-suit practice, focused in Suffolk County, encompassed more than 80 office and industrial building developments totaling more than 3.5 million s/f. Their clients included Teachers Federal Credit Union, Quality King Distributors, Inc., Brookhaven Rail Terminal, Suffolk Federal Credit Union, and Briad Group (Spring Hills Suites by Marriott). Prior to entering the real estate business, Lorraine O'Hara was operations manager for the Eastern Long Island offices of the former Prudential Securities Inc., which included offices in Hauppauge, Port Jefferson and Southampton. She held various financial industry licenses. Lorraine O'Hara is an active member of the Brookhaven Industrial Group Association, a business group formed in 2003 to provide networking and a forum for businesses in and around the Brookhaven industrial parks.
