NYSCAR receives accreditation award and upcoming events
I am pleased to announce that NYSCAR was recognized with the Realtors Commercial Alliance (RCA) Commercial Services Accreditation. NYSCAR and 26 other associations were recognized at the Commercial Alliance Committee Meeting held in conjunction with the National Association of Realtors Annual Convention in Orlando, Florida in November. ?Patty Nooney, 2008 RCA chair presented the award to NYSCAR first vice president Joseph Rowley, Jr., who accepted the award on behalf of NYSCAR. The award is given to commercial associations who meet specific benchmarks relative to programs and services that are offered to the members. ?NYSCAR is among an outstanding group of 52 associations across the country with the Accreditation.
The NYSCAR board will be meeting in late February in Fayetteville. This meeting will be the first meeting of 2009 and will include a strategic planning session with a professional moderator. We look forward to producing an excellent plan for the future direction of the association.
The annual conference planning committee will be meeting in the very near future to start the planning for the Eighth Annual New York State Commercial to be held June 1 - 3, 2009 at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona. As in the past, the conference will feature a 1 and a half day marketing session, golf outing, welcome reception, commercial continuing education classes, luncheon with industry leaders and the best networking ever! The conference has grown each year and has become one of the best conferences for the commercial real estate industry. ?Be sure to mark your calendar and plan to attend.
On April 16, NYSCAR, in cooperation with the Hudson Valley chapter of NYSCAR will offer a full day program "Creative Equity Marketing & Exchanging of Commercial Investment Real Estate instructed by Robert Giniecki, CCIM, SEC and James Wilson, CCIM, SEC. The course will enable you to successfully use creative equity marketing techniques to create more closed transactions. ?The program will be held at the Hotel Sierra in Fishkill.
