NYSCAR installs its 2012 officers and governors

By Michael Johnson February Board Meeting Our February 11, NYSCAR's board meeting was held at the Desmond Hotel in Albany. It was a great kick-off to the year. NYSAR's CEO, Duncan MacKenzie installed the officers and governors. The 2012 officers and governors are as follows: * Officers: president, Michael Johnson, Buffalo; first VP, John Lavelle, Pine Bush; second VP, Brian DiNardo, Rochester; treasurer, Guy Blake, CCIM, Kingston; and secretary, Alan Hendrickson, L.I. * Governors: Joseph Rowley, Jr. (immediate past-president) Rochester; Michael DelVecchio (president, Greater Capital Chapter) Albany; David Dworkin, Rochester; A. Gordon Furlani, Albany; Robert Giniecki, CCIM, SEC, Albany; Dennis Hennessy, SIOR, Syracuse; James Kelly, CCIM, Syracuse; Jerome Norton, CCIM, N.Y.; Jim Knight, (WNY chapter president) Buffalo; Douglas Rein, (So. Rowley Honored for Service Rowley was honored for his serving as NYSCAR's president for 2010 and 2011. He was also honored with NYSCAR's Meritorious Service Award for going above and beyond in his service to the association. He received a big round of applause from the governors who look forward to his continued participation with the organization. Walker Named Realtor of the Year for NYSCAR NYSCAR is pleased to announce that James Walker, Foresite Realty Advisors NE, Inc., Fishkill, and Realty Executives Williams-Sykes Realty is the recipient of the NYSCAR 2011 Realtor of the Year Award. The award was presented to Walker by the 2010 Realtor of the Year recipient, Alan Hendrickson, during the February 11­th board of governors' meeting held at the Desmond Hotel in Albany. The award is given each year to recognize an outstanding active member of NYSCAR. The current president of the Hudson Valley chapter of NYSCAR, Walker, was recognized for his commitment to excellence and his outstanding efforts on behalf of NYSCAR. His assistance with the annual marketing session and his untiring efforts to continuing to make the Hudson Valley chapter a strong chapter are key to keeping the Association a leading organization in the commercial real estate industry. Walker, broker/owner Foresite Realty Advisors specializes in commercial-investment real estate. Walker's professional activities include client counseling and brokerage functions representing clients in the acquisitions and disposition of commercial-investment properties, multifamily property and site location for commercial/retail properties. Through participation in commercial-investment networks, he is active in regional and national marketing. He began his real estate career in 1999. April 3-4, 2012 - Annual Spring Education & Marketing On April 3-4, NYSCAR in cooperation with the Hudson Valley chapter of NYSCAR will present the annual education and marketing event at the Hotel Sierra in Fishkill. On April 3, Tim Conley, CCIM, SIOR, will teach two continuing education classes as follows: "Comprehensive Due Diligence is Key in Real Estate" and "Yesterdays' Business Vanished-Transform Today or be Left Behind." These are two excellent classes which would be great for your career. April 4 will feature a marketing/networking session which is always a great event!
