Mc Gowan Builders hold 10th Annual Charity Golf Classic; to benefit Loretta Mc Gowan Foundation

Mc Gowan Builders Inc. held their 10th Annual Charity Golf Classic recently at the Blue Hill Golf Club. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Loretta Mc Gowan Foundation, a non-profit organization formed to foster research and educational efforts to help people with Down Syndrome. At this year's Golf Classic, Mc Gowan Builders celebrated the company's 10th Anniversary while continuing to support an organization they founded, the Loretta Mc Gowan Foundation. The charity was established by CEO Patrick Mc Gowan, president Martin Mc Gowan and their brother Thomas in honor of their Aunt Loretta, a caring and loving woman who was born with Down Syndrome. In the recent years, the Loretta Mc Gowan Foundation has grown substantially thanks to dedicated supporters. The Annual Charity Golf Classic has been successful in raising over $100,000 in donations year after year. There are several organizations that directly benefit from this event, such as the Stepping Stones School, a New Jersey school specializing in early education for children afflicted with Down Syndrome, the Sisters La Sagesse and Cregg House Services in Sligo, Ireland, a residential center for those with mental disabilities, the St. Joseph's Children's Hospital and the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. The Loretta Mc Gowan Foundation also provides scholarships to students seeking Special Education degrees, including a full scholarship to Felician College. Ultimately, the Loretta Mc Gowan Foundation hopes to raise enough funds to establish its own facility to not only effectively research and educate on this genetic disorder, but to also serve as a reliable resource for individuals with Down Syndrome to socialize, learn and, most importantly, find happiness. Mc Gowan Builders would like to sincerely thank all Golf Classic sponsors for their outstanding support.
