"When looking for potential merger candidates," said Meinberg, "chief among our requirements is a shared vision of professionalism, integrity and client service. Over the course of thirty years in the profession, Mark Ackerman has earned a loyal clientele and the respect of his peers."
Mayer said, "Mark Ackerman is a great people person, and that is how we have built our practice, around the people we work with."
For Mark Ackerman, CPA, who will be a partner at MayerMeinberg, merging his Rockville Centre accounting practice is representative of his ongoing commitment to provide his clients with the best possible service and personal attention, as well as the myriad resources of a larger firm.
As the principal of Ackerman & Associates LLC, Ackerman has built a solid practice over three decades on the strength of his work ethic, integrity and responsive service. Ackerman & Associates serves a diverse client base that includes real estate, with a significant expertise in HUD and Section 8 housing; as well as medical and other professional services providers, insurance brokers and underwriters, and staffing and court reporting agencies.
Ackerman launched his career in a small practice that gave him the practical hands on experience that led to his recruitment by Hurdman & Cranston, which merged into Big Four firm KPMG. After four years as a manager at Hurdman & Cranston, Mark left to launch Ackerman & Associates. A strong referral base and the growth and success of Ackerman & Associates' clients have all contributed to the ongoing success of that firm.
A graduate of St. John's University, Mark is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the New York State Society of CPAs and the Affordable Housing Association of CPAs. As an adjunct professor at C.W. Post, Mark taught courses in accounting for more than five years.
MayerMeinberg works with both individuals and businesses through the start-up, growth and transition phases with strategic advice and services to facilitate success, minimize taxes and maximize wealth. In addition to real estate, core competencies include professional services, digital media, e-commerce, staffing, bankruptcy, forensics and litigation support, construction, entertainment, leisure and fashion. Other services include lifestyle management, cash management, turnaround management, family business planning, business management consulting, estate and retirement planning and CFO services. The firm also has a Tax partner and full time tax attorney on staff to support and advise its accounting and business consulting practices.
