Deer Park, NY CJM Wealth Management CEO Charles Massimo has been named to the 2015 class of Top Financial Advisors on Long Island by Long Island Business News. Massimo, along with the other honorees, was recognized in a special awards dinner held on December 1 at the Crest Hollow Country Club. Massimo received special recognition in the “Charitable” category attesting to his active board role for Pal-O-Mine Equestrian, a not for profit organization providing therapeutic equine programs to help children and adults with disabilities and other problems. He is also member of Energeia, an organization committed to identifying and addressing Long Island’s challenges. This is the second award Massimo received in 2015 for his leadership and success. In May, he received an “Outstanding CEO Award” presented by Long Island Business News. Massimo’s distinction as a top financial advisor is not limited to the Long Island region. Nationally, he is a well-respected wealth manager who consistently ranks among the nation’s top performing financial advisors. In 2014, he was named to the “America’s Select Financial Advisors” list and his firm the “Premier Wealth Management Company on Long Island” by the National Association of Board Certified Advisory Practices (NABCAP). He also has been listed on the “Reuters Top Advisors List” and Worth Magazine’s “Top 100 Wealth Advisors.” At CJM Wealth, Massimo specializes in comprehensive wealth management services to ultra-affluent families, families with autistic children, physicians, professional athletes and closely-held businesses. The firm also offers a 401(k) advisory service to help businesses optimize their 401(k) plans and avoid excessive fees, in addition to establishing captive insurance to help business owners and professionals control risks, while achieving better asset protection and tax mitigation.  His firm currently has over $300 million in assets under its management. Massimo began CJM Wealth Management in 2003 following a successful career on Wall Street. He left Wall Street disillusioned with its culture that places the profits and interests of the investment banks above those of their clients. Today, he is among the 1% of the nation’s 250,000 advisors using the Fama-French Three Factor Model; an elite group of Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA) with access to DFA’s in-depth and ongoing financial science academic research and DFA funds which have consistently surpassed their category bench. Massimo follows a strategy of active indexing and core principles of diversification, asset class allocation and portfolio rebalancing. Late fall 2014, Massimo published his first book, Getting Off The Street – Sane Investment Advice from One of the Nation’s Leading Wealth Managers, with the goal of raising the awareness of everyday people about what it really takes to build and preserve wealth. The book was quickly met with strong reviews and increasing sales which earned it Amazon.com’s #1 download spot in 19 categories and four countries with 23,000 downloads over a single weekend. Massimo donates a percentage of the book’s sales to Pal-O-Mine, and another nonprofit, the Choroideremia Research Foundation, an organization providing support and information on Choroideremia, a rare inherited disorder that causes progressive vision loss leading to blindness. A graduate of Manhattanville College, Mr. Massimo is widely-recognized as industry expert and guest speaker at national industry conferences. He has been featured as a wealth management expert in national print and broadcast media, including the Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, CBS News, NBC News, Fox News, Newsday, Worth Magazine, Crain’s New York Business, the New York Times and www.CNBC.com. He resides in East Setauket, NY.
