Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP renews 36,000 s/f lease on L.I.

Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP, (MWE) a certified public accounting and business advisory firm, is expanding. MWE, which was founded in 1946 in Queens and has since expanded many times to become one of the largest accounting and business advisory firms in the northeast, has made the decision to lease additional space at its current location, 400 Garden City Plaza, in order to accommodate its continued growth. 400 Garden City Plaza is owned by and managed by The Treeline Companies. MWE managing partner Teddy Selinger said, "After careful consideration of all the options, we have decided to remain at 400 Garden City Plaza. We will be occupying the entire fifth floor of the building, comprising 36,000 s/f up through the year 2019, the term of our 11-year lease." He added that, MWE has also negotiated the right of first refusal to take additional space in the building to accommodate the firm's future growth. Since its inception, MWE has been on a growth track. The firm has consistently grown and evolved in terms of staff and practice areas. MWE currently employs a total of 225 serving a diverse client base from its Garden City location and its NYC office at 330 Madison Ave. As part of the MWE expansion plan, the firm will be embarking on a major space renovation. It will encompass a new interior design and layout of the entire space, new floor and wall coverings and décor items. The phased-in space redesign and remodeling project will begin over the next several months. The renovation is being performed by Treeline and will be performed in different phases with an expected completion date of August 31. To ensure the firm's smooth operation during the construction period, MWE has secured 10,000 s/f of space on the building's first floor to serve as "swing space" in which partners and associates will be relocated in accordance with when the space they are occupying is under renovation.
