Name: Marc Spector Title: Principal Company: Spector Group Location: New York City and Woodbury, L.I. Birth date: November 2 Family: Married with 3 children College: University of Michigan, BS in Science and Architecture; MS in Architecture First job outside of real estate: My first job outside of real estate was a custom car washing/simonizing business with a high school friend. First job in real estate or allied field: I was hired by SLCE Architects after finishing my graduate studies. I then worked for Peter Claman for a year before joining Spector Group. What do you do now and what are you planning for the future? My plan is for the continued expansion of the company into new global markets. My goal is to further create the concept of the "Spector Group of Companies" offering additional services so we become truly turn-key. Finally, utilizing our expertise in office design, I co-founded www.openofficespace.com, a real estate needs portal for entrepreneurs and co-working environments. Hobbies: My work. I spend most of my time cultivating my design acumen. When not designing, I spend time with my wife and kids, play golf, travel and sing. Person you admire most (outside of family): Professionally, the architect Arne Jacobsen, a modernist from the early 20th Century. His work and mine are similar as we both practice "Fluid Modernism." Key to success: Do or do not. There is no Try. It really is that black or white.
