Melville, NY Long Island Fight for Charity, the nation’s only volunteer charity boxing event, will be hosting its 19th Main Event on November 25. Attendees will gather to watch and cheer on the 15 men and women who will step in the ring to take a punch for charity. Over the last 11 months, through fundraising events and community activities, each boxer has raised $10,000. The funds will go to support several Long Island charities.

“After long months of training and fundraising, our volunteer boxers will finally step in the ring and showcase their hard work. Having thousands of local business leaders, family members and friends cheering them on is a rewarding experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives. All of our boxers, many of which had no prior training experience, dedicated a significant portion of their year to vigorous training and fundraising, which will make a meaningful impact to local Long Islanders in need,” said Jamie Austin, co-founder of Long Island Fight for Charity.
The Main Event will consist of 10 amateur boxing matches. All the volunteer boxers are men and women form the Long Island business community, coming from all walks of life with unique stories. The boxers, most with no prior experience, have spent the last several months training to step in the ring for the very first time. A full list of all the volunteer boxers is included below.
Attendees will also enjoy food tasting from more than 30 prominent restaurants and providers, including: Lessing’s Hospitality, Sexy Salad, Tony’s Tacos, Tito’s Vodka, Taste of Asia, The Halston, Chiddy’s Cheesesteaks, Canz, Butera’s, Lucharitos , DANG BBQ, Heritage of India, Batter up bakery and many more.
Each year, the Long Island Fight for Charity Main Event attracts over a thousand attendees and raises more than $150,000 for local not-for-profit charitable organizations.
Funds raised this year will go to the Long Island Community Chest, Eden II/The Genesis School, New Ground and others. Since its inception in 2003, the organization has raised over $2 million to charities on Long Island.

Founded in 2003 by Jeff Cohen, Matt Silver and Jamie Austin, the Long Island Fight for Charity is one of Long Island’s largest and most anticipated annual charity fundraising networking events. Local men and women from the business and not-for-profit communities square off in a boxing ring for charity each November. Over 200 individuals have participated as boxers since its inception and over $2 million has been raised for charities. Over 1,200 people attend the event each year and more than 30 local restaurants and beverage companies support this event.
