According to Avison Young, industry veteran Shari Krasnow-Renzi has joined the firm to expand its project management services platform in N.C.Y.
Effective immediately, Krasnow-Renzi joins Avison Young as a director of project management and will be based in the company's New York City office. She comes to Avison Young after 15 years with Turner & Townsend, where she managed significant build-out and construction assignments on behalf of a long list of top-tier clients, including KKR & Co., Bloomberg LP, BMW, The Gap and Societe Generale.
At Avison Young, Krasnow-Renzi will oversee project management assignments on behalf of both owners and occupiers of commercial space. She will report to Edward Walsh, Avison Young principal and managing director of project management, and will work closely with Kirsten Beck, a director of project management and manager of Avison Young's seven-person project management team. Krasnow-Renzi's additional responsibilities will encompass developing new business relationships, including supporting the firm's brokerage professionals in providing fully-integrated solutions for clients' space requirements.
Krasnow-Renzi's appointment at Avison Young coincides with the firm's announcement that KKR & Co. has signed a contract with Avison Young's project management services division for several projects already underway and all future projects. Krasnow-Renzi will manage the KKR relationship on behalf of Avison Young, having overseen multiple New York City projects for the global investment firm over the past 14 years, including a large-scale build-out at 9 West 57th Street, as well as build-outs at 730 Fifth Avenue that ranged from 5,000 to 68,000 rentable square feet (rsf).
"Project management is a core component of Avison Young's growth strategy in the Tri-State market, and is an integral part of our aim to provide both landlords and tenants with a full-service, integrated platform that is able to address the entire range of their commercial real estate needs," comments Walsh. "Shari's vast experience and extensive relationships will contribute to positioning our team strongly as we build on the momentum we have established to continue the growth of our market share and presence in New York City."
Additional notable assignments that Krasnow-Renzi has completed during her career include directing the extensive build-out of Bloomberg's expansion at 120 Park Avenue, which totaled approximately 400,000 rsf with an estimated budget of $280 million, as well as build-out work at Bloomberg's headquarters at 731 Lexington Avenue. Krasnow-Renzi also managed a renovation on behalf of BMW North America for three floors of occupied premises at 300 Chestnut Ridge Road in Woodcliff Lake, N.J.
"Joining Avison Young provides me with the opportunity to fold more business development into my everyday practices and to play a key role in growing the firm's project management services division in New York," said Krasnow-Renzi. "I am very excited to collaborate with the entire Avison Young team to identify opportunities where we can expand our existing client relationships to become a true single-source solution for commercial real estate."
Prior to joining Turner & Townsend, Krasnow-Renzi held positions at Theodore Williams Construction, Rockwell Group Design & Architecture, Ted Moudis & Associates, and Sasso Design Group. She received a bachelor's degree in architecture and design from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
