Kalmon Dolgin Affiliates, Inc. (KDA) has arranged a 33,000 s/f, long-term lease at 140 58th St. in the Bay Ridge area for a new Ford Motors service facility, according to Kalmon and Neil Dolgin, co-presidents of the firm.
Robert Klein of KDA represented the tenant Ford Motors/Bay Ridge Automotive Corp. LLC., and the owner, the New York City Economic Development Corp.
Ford Motors will occupy 33,000 s/f in the former Federal Laundry Building at the Brooklyn Army Terminal (BAT), and enjoy the use of a 55,000 s/f yard. The BAT is a free-standing complex which offers two eight-story buildings. The site was formerly used during World War II as a laundry facility for the cleaning of the soldiers' uniforms.
Klein said, "Due to the historic status of 140 58th St., Ford Motors was in negotiations for about a year, working to comply with the State Historic Preservation Office. The tenant will use this site as a service facility for new cars."
140 58th St. is located at the corner of 1st Ave. near the waterfront in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. It offers convenient access to the Gowanus Expressway and Belt Pwy.
