Manhattan, NY Kee’s Chocolates, the beloved New York-based artisanal chocolatier, is celebrating the grand opening of its new boutique shop at 222 Front St. The new location marks Kee’s Chocolates’ return to brick-and-mortar retail, welcoming customers into a thoughtfully designed space where they can experience the craft of chocolate-making firsthand.
“The historic charm of Front Street is perfectly complemented by the independent businesses that line the neighborhood,” said Jody Durst, president of The Durst Organization. “We are thrilled to welcome Kee’s Chocolates to the neighborhood and celebrate the opening of a business that embodies craftsmanship, quality, and community.”
The grand opening, took place on July 1, introduced a new chapter for Kee’s Chocolates, known for its handcrafted confections made fresh daily, including its signature bonbons, macarons, and fruit-based sweets. The Front St. shop features an open kitchen concept with clear glass frontage, allowing visitors to observe the meticulous process behind the brand’s acclaimed chocolates.
Guests visiting throughout the day were treated to chocolate-dipped strawberries and a complimentary semi-frozen chocolate drink. Made with Kee’s signature ganache, the drinks available in flavors included yuzu, raspberry and classic dark chocolate, each crafted with fruit purée and no artificial flavoring. Freshness has long been a hallmark of Kee’s Chocolates. Every chocolate is handcrafted using premium ingredients and no preservatives, resulting in bonbons and truffles with a one-week refrigerated shelf life – a reflection of the brand’s commitment to quality over mass production.
“This new shop is incredibly meaningful to me,” said Kee Ling Tong, founder of Kee’s Chocolates. “After focusing on our online business in recent years, I’m excited to return to a physical space and reconnect with customers in a neighborhood that feels both peaceful and vibrant. Historic Front Street’s quaint cobblestones and proximity to the water give it a distinct, intimate character, and it feels like the perfect place to begin this next chapter.”
Kee’s Chocolates joins a growing collection of locally owned retailers, restaurants, and wellness concepts that have helped transform historic Front Street into one of Lower Manhattan’s most distinctive neighborhoods.
With a small, highly specialized team, Kee’s Chocolates continues to produce its confections with the same attention to detail and commitment to quality that has earned the brand a devoted following for more than two decades.
The Durst Organization has carefully curated a mix of neighborhood-serving retailers and destination dining concepts on Historic Front Street, including Seaport Pilates NYC, Peck Slip Social, Il Brigante, SUteiShi, and Seaport Paw, serving more than 70,000 residents and 233,000 office workers in Lower Manhattan.
