Name: Amelia Janisz Title: CEO & President Company Name: Easy Building Environmental Health and Safety (EZBuildingEHS) Years in Commercial Real Estate: 20 Who are three women- living or dead - that you would like to have drinks with and why? 1. Hillary Clinton (Living). I'd like to hear about how she personally feels about her chances of running for/ becoming president. I'd pitch my company to her and seeing if she could introduce us to venture capitalists. 2. Gina McCarthy (Living). Administrator, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). I'd like to hear the constraints - political and economic - that the EPA has from her personal viewpoint and how she strategizes to overcome barriers. 3. My mother (Dead). She was a professional film editor at a time when women didn't have a job or profession. I'd like to see what she thought about women's issues now. What is your favorite quote? "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.' Margaret Mead What are you doing differently in 2014 that has had positive impact on your career? I brought one of my sons who is interested in our web-based expert system into the business do to sales and help run the firm. Having someone who understands the business and is motivated to make it succeed allows me to do more marketing and positioning of the firm. What are you doing to increase your client base from local / regional markets to national / global markets? We are trying to raise venture capital. We have developed a proof-of-concept expert system that is TurboTax for environmental regulations for residential and commercial buildings in NYC. We ask you a couple of questions about your building; then we generate a simple-to-follow checklist, that if you follow, puts you in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The goal of our system is protect asset value and eliminate fines and violations. We want to raise venture capital so we can expand our system out to 49 major cities in the US.
