IREM and Coldwell Banker Commercial Affiliates to advance mutual interests

The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and Coldwell Banker Commercial Affiliates will have an enhanced collaborative working relationship to advance their mutual interests. The agreement was announced at a special ceremony held during the opening session of IREM iCon, the recently upgraded, annual, IREM-sponsored industry education and networking conference. Timothy Dimond, CPM, vice president of asset services for Realogy's Global Client Solutions, represented Coldwell Banker Commercial and joined IREM president Randall Woodbury, CPM, at the event. Dimond is a two-time past chapter president of IREM. Commenting on the agreement, Woodbury said, "As global leaders in our respective industry sectors, Coldwell Banker Commercial and IREM each play distinctive, complementary roles in the marketplace. Both organizations are deeply committed to creating and sharing knowledge that benefits professional real estate practitioners and those they serve and to nurturing the highest performance standards for our industry." "Property management is a critical and core component of client services and requires a specific skill set," said Fred Schmidt, president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Commercial Affiliates. "Owners of our affiliated companies recognize that property management provides a stabilized revenue stream, exposure to potential clients and an ability to grow other related service lines. IREM clearly is the leading source of real estate management education and earning a CPM designation is a competitive advantage. We are particularly happy to stimulate our long-standing relationships with IREM and hope that it will enhance the services our offices and sales professionals provide their clients." Agreement Details The IREM and Coldwell Banker Commercial Affiliates agreement calls for: * Coldwell Banker Commercial to encourage those individuals and offices that provide property management and asset services to earn an IREM credential - the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation, the Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) certification, and the Accredited Commercial Manager certification for individuals; the Accredited Management Organization (AMO) accreditation, for Coldwell Banker Commercial affiliated offices. * Coldwell Banker Commercial and IREM to seek opportunities to collaborate at the local level to encourage networking between IREM's 80 chapters in the United States and real estate managers in Coldwell Banker Commercial offices. * Coldwell Banker Commercial and IREM to seek opportunities to collaborate internationally, leveraging the strong individual presence of each organization for the benefit of both.
