WSP | PB to provide CE&I services for bridge replacement project
Ashford Avenue Bridge in Westchester County.New York, NY The Westchester County Department of Public Works & Transportation has awarded a contract to WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff for construction engineering and inspection (CE&I) services for the rehabilitation of the Ashford Ave.Bridge in Westchester County.
The bridge connects the villages of Ardsley and Dobbs Ferry, traversing the Saw Mill River, Saw Mill River Pwy., South County Trailway and the NYS Thruway. The bridge was built in 1950 and today carries more than 20,000 vehicles per day.
As the CE&I consultant, WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff is responsible for daily oversight of the work to ensure conformance with the contract plans and specifications, including the quality of workmanship and materials. The firm will also facilitate coordination efforts with multiple agencies, including the NYS Department of Transportation, the Thruway Authority, the town of Greenburgh, the villages of Ardsley and Dobbs Ferry, and various private utilities.
Construction on the bridge is scheduled to begin in the fall of this year and be completed by the fall of 2018.
