Welco represents Polizzotto Family LP in sale of former Modell’s property to Raymour & Flannigan

New York, NY Jerry Welkis, president of Welco Realty, represented The Polizzotto Family Limited Partnership on the  sale of the former Modell’s property located on the corner of Woodhaven Blvd. and Rockaway Blvd. (94-11 Rockaway Blvd.) in the Ozone Park neighborhood of Queens. Prior to Modell’s occupying the  property it was occupied by United Artist Theaters. The property was sold to Raymour & Flanigan Properties, LLC and was represented by Gabriel Saff of Retail Zone, LLC. The property consists of 16,000 s/f grade level and 2,000 s/f mezzanine and a 1,761 s/f Papa John’s next door.

This is one of the mostly highly visible locations in Queens and is located near public transportation with high traffic count on both Woodhaven Blvd. and Rockaway Blvd. and is located diagonally across the street from P.C. Richard & Son,  Marshall’s and Mad Rag.

Welkis also represented the Polizzotto Family L.P. on initially leasing the property to Modell’s.

Modell’s was there from 2006 up until the time they filed for bankruptcy. Welco represented both Modell’s and the  Polizzotto Family on that transaction.

Mitchell Modell always asked Welkis to find them another Ozone Park type location. It was one of their better stores in the chain.
