New York, NY Real estate professionals from across the industry rocked out for charity on April 12 at the fifth annual Real Estate Rockers in Relief concert at the Highline Ballroom. The concert drew a packed house, raising awareness and over $110,000 in funds for the JDRC, a program of NECHAMA – Jewish Response to Disaster, an organization that assists communities across the nation with disaster recovery. The event, organized by Carl Schwartz, co-chair of Hunton & Williams LLP’s global real estate practice, and David Lowenfeld, chief operating officer of World Wide Group, has raised nearly $400,000 for the JDRC over the past five years.

“It’s inspiring to see New York City’s real estate community band together with a group of young people engaged in rebuilding the communities across our country that have been devastated by natural disasters,” said Schwartz. “This annual concert reflects our strong commitment to aiding communities in need and supporting the volunteers who so generously donate their time and energy to help others.”

“The turnout and support for this year’s event was truly humbling,” said Lowenfeld. “The funds we’ve raised year after year continue to go a long way to support JDRC’s mission.”

The bands, including Normal by Day, led by Schwartz, and Midlife, led by Lowenfeld, covered songs by artists ranging from AC/DC to Oasis to The Rolling Stones.

“We are incredibly grateful for the tremendous support shown by our performers and the packed house of attendees at this year’s Rockers in Relief concert,” said Bill Driscoll Jr., executive director of NECHAMA. “Each generous donation will be put to good use, helping Americans across the country rebuild their homes and their lives after natural disasters.”
