Thornton Tomasetti hires Lomax as a VP

According to Thornton Tomasetti, Scott Lomax has joined the firm's New York office as VP. Lomax brings to the firm a strong background in the structural design and management of complex steel projects, such as bridges and buildings with long spans. Prior to joining Thornton Tomasetti, Lomax was a chief structural engineer at the architecture and engineering firm, Santiago Calatrava. At the firm, he worked on projects such as the Reggio Emilia Bridges on the A1 Motorway and TAV Railway in Italy, the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in Texas and the World Trade Center Transportation Hub in New York City. Lomax will seek to leverage Thornton Tomasetti's experience in long-span structures and apply that expertise to bridge design. Originally from Scotland, Lomax holds a master's degree in Engineering from the University of Glasgow. He is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
