The Moinian Grp. appoints Wallerstein VP of development for 605 west 42nd St.

With the foundation nearing completion at The Moinian Group's mixed-use building at 605 West 42nd St., the company has revealed that William Wallerstein has been appointed as VP of development at the 60-story, 1.16 million s/f glass tower. "Bill has proven throughout his career that he has the smarts, dedication, and talent to see large-scale, out of the ground developments come to fruition," said Joseph Moinian, president & CEO of The Moinian Group. "His extensive experience with similar projects will make him a major asset to our team." Currently, Wallerstein is the owner of Onegreenworld Solar, LLC, where he oversees the design and installation of PV solar projects. Prior to this, Wallerstein served as vice president of construction and development at The Jack Parker Corp., overseeing the construction of projects such as Truffles Tribeca and The Biltmore. He served in the same capacity at the Gotham Construction Co. on several projects including 145 E. 76th St., 777 6th Ave., Longacre House, and 90 East End Ave. Prior to these positions, he was the Project Manager on several projects for Lehrer McGovern Bovis, Inc. and The Lefrak Organization. "The Moinian Group has a strong history of development on the West Side of Manhattan and it is an honor to be joining their team to work on this project," said Mr. Wallerstein. "The luxury units and amenities at 605 West 42nd Street are on par with Manhattan's finest rental properties, and we're looking forward to a rapid lease-up once the building comes to market in 2015." Upon completion, 605 West 42nd Street will house 1,174 rental units, offering studios, one-, and two-bedroom units. The base of the building will be comprised of approximately 50,000 square feet of retail space with 200 feet of frontage on 11th Avenue, and a parking garage with nearly 500 parking spaces. 605 West 42nd Street is slated for completion in the third quarter of 2015.
