Tishman Speyer’s renovation and re-use of the historic Morgan North Post Office is a compelling example of future urban work environments. One of the distinguishing tenant features is its two-acre rooftop landscape – the largest in Manhattan.

What person, project, transaction, or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year? Architecture and real estate has been impacted by the growing density of cities. Developing urban hubs have pushed for more community–oriented and transit–oriented design trends

What person, project, transaction, or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year? We have continued to develop our VDC/BIM process named COLLAB by Wesbuilt. It now incorporates a new feature, the Facilities Asset Model (FAM), a fully immersive digital twin of completed projects with all submittals digitally embedded and linked to each element within the 3D scan of completed spaces.

What person, project, transaction, or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year? High interest rates, sustained inflation, and increased costs for goods and services have created an environment where owners must reduce their expenses to operate.

What person, project, transaction, or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year? Rise in interest rates and continued low office use have had a strong impact. I hear the worst of inflation is behind us, which should give the Fed a reason to pause interest rate hikes.

What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2023? We have been working for several years on a development site of 20 acres in Westchester County. We brought 15+ well qualified offers to the seller. All were for high-end residential development.

What person, project, transaction, or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year? The resurgence of food, fitness and entertainment uses have positively impacted our market. These uses were most impacted by COVID, and seeing them expanding and backfilling space is a win.
