SBE acquires Morgans Hotel Group for $794 million; Fried Frank acts as counsel

New York, NY Fried Frank acted as counsel to Morgans Hotel Group Co. in its agreement to be acquired by SBE, a leading global lifestyle hospitality company, for $794 million.

Upon closing, SBE will acquire Morgans’ portfolio of 13 owned, operated or licensed hotel properties in London, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Istanbul, including its Hudson New York property.

The Fried Frank team was led by corporate partners Daniel Bursky and Warren de Wied.

Also involved were corporate partners Julian Chung and Joshua Thomas Coleman; executive compensation & employee benefits partner Adam Kaminsky; litigation partner Scott Luftglass; and corporate associates Brenna Terry, Michael Chen, Gregory Conroy, Bram Couvreur and Jake Saifman.
