Rudin completes 170,000 s/f lease extension with Seward & Kissel

Manhattan, NY Rudin has inked a 170,112 s/f lease extension with law firm Seward & Kissel at One Battery Park Plaza, its 35-story, 800,000 s/f office tower.

Seward & Kissel, which has offices in New York City and Washington, D.C., focuses on corporate and litigation matters that shape how financial services businesses operate, raise capital and manage risk. With the 11-year extension, the law firm, which has called One Battery home since 2011, will remain in its offices spanning the full 19th through 24th floors.

“We’re excited Seward & Kissel will continue to call One Battery Park Plaza home,” said Michael Rudin, co-CEO at Rudin. “Their renewal extends a remarkable year of leasing at the building and across the portfolio, adding to the momentum of the downtown market.”

With this transaction, Rudin has now secured approximately 260,000 s/f of leasing this year at One Battery Park Plaza, which is now 99% leased. Prior to Seward & Kissel, Rudin secured new leases in 2026 with Industrious, Woods Bagot and the New York City Independent Budget Office, as well as a renewal with Radancy.

Constructed by the Rudins in 1971, One Battery Park Plaza offers views of the New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Governors Island. The building, which features a renovated Italian marble lobby, is adjacent to The Battery, a 25-acre public park that Seward & Kissel has long supported.  Most notably, Seward & Kissel made a substantial donation in 2015 to mark its 125th anniversary as both a firm and a member of the downtown Manhattan business community.

Kevin Daly, vice president of office leasing and Craig Panzirer, senior vice president, head of office leasing, represented Rudin in house. Seward & Kissel was represented by CBRE’s Lewis Miller, Andrew Sussman, Cara Chayet and Scott Sloves.
