New York, NY Romer Debbas, LLP has been recognized by The Real Deal among the city’s leading law firms. Examining July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2019, The Real Deal credits Romer Debbas with overseeing $590.4 million in sales, a total comprised of 188 transactions, claiming the 13th spot on the list.

Overall, The Real Deal found that the city’s top 30 real estate firms handled $24.8 billion worth of buyer-side sales during the time-frame. They calculated the rankings by analyzing city building sales of $1 million or more as recorded in Acris. The law firms were only credited for deals in which they represented the buyer.

Integrating the innovation of a young growing firm with the experience of seasoned attorneys, Romer Debbas is a recognized authority in the field of real estate law and general practice. The firm is led by founders and managing partners Michael Romer and Pierre Debbas.

The Real Deal ranking is yet another accomplishment for the firm. Romer Debbas was acknowledged by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top real estate law firms in the city. Additionally, several of the firm’s attorneys have been named in Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers and Leaders in the Law, issued in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and New York Magazine respectively, celebrating them among Manhattan’s top real estate attorneys.

Romer represents a broad range of clients in the acquisition, sale, lease, development and/or financing of commercial land residential properties. In addition, he boasts a successful history of representing prominent financial institutions in commercial and residential lending transactions; and fulfilling the general counsel and litigation needs of numerous cooperative and condominium boards throughout New York City. In 2018, Romer was named in Super Lawyers New York Metro for Real Estate, which lists the top 5% of all lawyers in their respective practice areas as nominated by their peers. Prior, Romer was regularly named in the Rising Stars section of Super Lawyers which highlights the top 2.5% of lawyers under the age of 40.

Debbas has extensive experience in the areas of real estate and general business law, focusing on the purchase and sale of New York City commercial and residential real estate, commercial leasing, real estate related financing matters, representation of cooperative and condominium boards, foreign investors, and small businesses. Over the course of his career, Debbas has been instrumental in thousands of real estate transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $1 billion. In 2013, Debbas was named among Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars; and in 2014, he secured his spot on Super Lawyers – an accomplishment earned each year since. In addition, Debbas has been named in New York Magazine’s Leaders in the Law as one of New York City’s top attorneys.
