Remember when? September 15, 1990

Ground was broken for a 260,000 s/f shopping center called West Shore Plaza, which will feature the first Caldor store to come to Staten Island and the second to be built in New York City, according to Philip Pilevsky, a partner of Meridith Avenue Associates, the developer. Caldor will be the anchor store at the plaza. The plaza is a development of Meredith Avenue Associates, a partnership of Pilevsky, president of Philips International; Hank Luwisch, president of Hamilton Construction; and Joseph Sauerhoff, president of Sauerhoff-Kessler Realty Corp. - all New York-based real estate firms.
