New York, NY Real estate professionals rocked out for charity at the 8th annual Real Estate Rockers in Relief concert, which drew over 750 guests to the city’s Irving Plaza. The June 6th concert raised over $150,000 for NECHAMA - Jewish Response to Disaster, a volunteer organization providing natural disaster response, rebuild and preparedness training services nationwide, including efforts in the tri-state area with neighborhoods that were damaged by Hurricane Sandy, as well as several key projects in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico.

Founded in 2012 by Carl Schwartz, co-chair of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP’s global real estate practice, and David Lowenfeld of DHL Holdings, the event has raised $800,000 for NECHAMA since its launch.

“We appreciate all members of New York City’s renowned real estate community who come out each year to support NECHAMA,” Schwartz said. “Rockers in Relief reflects our unwavering commitment to aiding communities in need and supporting the volunteers who so generously donate their time and energy to help others.”

This year’s event featured special performances by Emily Warren and Scott Harris.

The two songwriter-musicians are behind some of today’s pop music hits, working together to pen songs by the Chainsmokers, Jason Mraz and Shawn Mendes. Warren, who recently released her album, "Quiet Your Mind," is the daughter of event co-founder Schwartz.

“It was very rewarding to see the tremendous support shown by our performers and guests at this year’s concert,” said NECHAMA executive director David Kaplan. “Every generous donation helps Americans across the country rebuild their homes and lives.”
