Picone Construction honored for restoration of Old Post Office / ECC City Campus

At the 6th Annual Preservation Awards Ceremony held May 30th, Picone Construction, among others, had been honored for their work for historic preservation and restoration in the Buffalo Niagara area. The Erie Community College / Old Post Office located at 121 Ellicott St. received the Peter B. and Genevieve R. Flickinger Stewardship Award. Restoration included replacement of the building's roof, granite and mortar repair of exterior stonework, repair of the tower, entrance and exit repairs, stairway and marble replacement, restoration of fourth-floor art glass, installation of four copper rooftop finials, and repair and reconstruction of all windows and window frames. In addition, the Oak St. loading dock was repaired and the porte cochere partially dismantled, parts rebuilt, and reassembled.
