Nelson joins CPC as VP and mortgage officer

The Community Preservation Corp., Inc. (CPC), one of the leading not-for-profit affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization lenders, has hired Matthew Nelson as vice president and mortgage officer in the firm's Albany office. Nelson worked with CPC over the past few years in his former role as the deputy commissioner and president of the Office of Community Renewal at NYS Homes and Community Renewal (NYSHCR), where he was part of the agency's senior leadership team and administered a variety of statewide housing and community development programs. Prior to working at NYSHCR, Nelson was a member of Govenor Andrew Cuomo's senior staff, serving as a liaison to coordinate and manage the Governor's schedule. He also worked at a number of government offices and campaigns in Washington D.C., assisting high-profile officials such as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
