Megan Guy of Simone Development Companies addresses Association of Medical Facility Professionals Greater New York Chapter

Manhattan, NY Simone Development Companies’ senior vice president of development Megan Guy was a featured panelist on September 24 as the Association of Medical Facility Professionals (AMFP) Greater New York Chapter explored “How Healthcare Systems Use Real Estate to Advance their Business” as part of their AMFP Conversations series at CannonDesign NYC office.

In addition to Guy, moderator Thomas Hickey, AIA, healthcare project architect, associate vice president of CannonDesign welcomed speakers Terron Browne, project manager, design + construction, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Nathan Brzozowski, senior managing director, Integrated Consulting Strategies at Savills.

The Greater New York chapter hosts this series of programs that is both topical and conversational. The interactive session described the factors that affect healthcare system decisions regarding targeted geography, size, and type of real estate that is needed, whether the asset will be leased or acquired, and the project delivery approach.
“Sometimes healthcare organizations come to us with a requirement to fill, and in other instances we are in the market and see opportunities that we bring to the institutions,” said Guy. “Real estate often moves faster than healthcare, so we rely on our relationships. Guy is responsible for Simone Development Companies’ development initiatives and new acquisitions, managing a significant pipeline of healthcare, mixed-use, industrial, and residential projects and overseeing all aspects of the acquisition, land use, design, construction, and marketing phases. Since joining Simone Development in 2016, she has worked on completed and on-going projects totaling over four million square feet.

The Greater New York chapter (formerly New York City chapter) was established in the fall of 2020 and is the largest chapter of AMFP with over 500 members in the five boroughs of NYC, Long Island, Westchester, and Hudson Valley.
