Lee & Associates NYC arranges 1,350 s/f Williamsburg lease for Molly Tea

Brooklyn, NY Lee & Associates NYC has arranged a 10-year retail lease for Molly Tea, the international floral tea brand with more than 2,000 locations worldwide, at 193 Bedford Ave. in Williamsburg.

Molly Tea leased 1,350 s/f, comprising 850 s/f on the ground floor and 500 s/f on the lower level, and is expected to open this fall. The space was previously occupied by Chocolate World.

Jordan Cohen, Brett Brownstein and Garry Steinberg of Lee & Associates NYC represented the landlord, Deegan Management, in the transaction. Mendel Jacobson of One NYC RE represented Molly Tea. Although the terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the asking rent was $375 per s/f.

Located along one of Williamsburg’s busiest retail corridors and in close proximity to the Bedford Ave. L subway station, the space provides Molly Tea with seven-day pedestrian traffic and places the brand alongside a mix of established national and international retailers.

The new Molly Tea will also be located next to Kiehl’s newly opened Williamsburg flagship, another Bedford Ave. transaction arranged by Cohen, Brownstein and Steinberg.

“Molly Tea was looking for a location that could give the brand strong visibility and consistent foot traffic as it continues to expand in the New York market, and Bedford Avenue checked those boxes,” said Cohen. “The opportunity to position Molly Tea next to the new Kiehl’s flagship made the location even more compelling. It’s a strong example of the caliber of brands continuing to seek space along Bedford Ave. and the momentum we’re seeing in Williamsburg retail.”

Founded in Shenzhen, China, Molly Tea specializes in freshly brewed floral teas inspired by jasmine and other flower and fruit aromas. The company has grown to more than 2,000 locations worldwide and is expanding its U.S. presence.

In addition to the Williamsburg location, Molly Tea is preparing to open at 862 Broadway near Union Square and operates New Jersey locations in Jersey City and Edison.
